When we harden against parts of ourselves things feel a little more difficult. I find this to be true both in my seated practice and daily living. What might help us be with more difficult experiences rather than pushing away from them is an attitude of curiosity.
When I feel myself becoming more rigid mentally and physically, curiosity can be a key to opening into a more friendly, more gentle space. When we ask ourselves "what do I need? Or "How can I be helpful right now" we remember that we already have the capacity to work with things as they are.
